Hi, folks! I am Jeanette Nyberg. I graduated from the Rhode Island School of Design in 1993, full of art-smarts. I’ve worked as a photo stylist since 1997, and have 2 kids and 2 step kids ranging from ages 3 to 16. So these 3 feats combined, plus the fact that I’m completely immature establish me as the foremost authority on design and art for kids.
Okay, maybe not the foremost authority, but I think I have a pretty good idea of quality design. Plus I noticed there isn’t much art-learning happening in schools lately. That sucks. Also? I think kids are pretty cool and deserve to learn about and be surrounded by things that stretch their little visual minds.
This is my ongoing project: to compile resources for parents to find:
- Wonderfully-designed products for their kids
- Art supplies and lesson plan ideas for their kids
- Inspiration to make life with kids super-creative
I currently reside in the Chicago area with my husband, Christian, and above-mentioned wee ones, a dog and the occasional house centipede, which makes me feel horribly squirmy. We are constantly in the throes of creative endeavors around here, and heartily appreciate art and design.
Christian co-owns a commercial photo studio in Chicago and creates disturbingly fantastic baby doll sculptures. I started blogging with Craftwhack, my personal site that has nothing to do with crafts. It’s filled with snarky humor and swearing and sarcasm. I continue to post there sometimes…. check out the Lifewhack series.
